NAIDOC Week - Celebrated with Dancing, Fun and Workshops in Mount Isa.
To help the local Indigenous children in Mount Isa learn how to tell stories through movement and dance, Descendance (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Dance Theatre) from Sydney came to town and spent some time showing and encouraging the kids to put the Deadly Dance skills on show.
The group of kids are called "Sundowners" - and they had the best time performing for the crowd.
Also helping to celebrate NAIDOC Week, was the Gerib Sik Performers from Cairns, who performed traditional Torres Straight Islands dances, in some beautiful head dress's and outfits.
Following are some photos from the performance held on Tuesday, 5 July 2016, at Outback at Isa, Mount Isa, North West Queensland.
