John Campbell Miles Memorial Lookout {Mount Isa, NW Queensland}

Mount Isa Lookout

I have spent the last couple of days 'being a tourist in my own home town'.  Armed with my trusty Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone, I visited some of the iconic areas around town, here is what I captured.

In the Centre of Mount Isa, is a hill that is a perfect spot to get a great view of the City of Mount Isa.  From here, you can see the full width of the Mount Isa Mines, with the airport to the north and the power stations to the south.

Also located at the "Lookout" is the World Traveller signpost, created and donated by David HART (an owner/operator of a sign business in town some years ago) to the local Rotary, Apex, Lions and Jaycee clubs within Mount Isa.

A great spot for a bit of breakfast, lunch or dinner - or just sit and watch the sunrise or sunset

Access to the lookout is via two ramps - one quite steep, the other quite gentle but longer
