THE Flaming Ball of Light that fell to Earth {Mount Isa}

Last night (Thursday, 15th May 2014) myself, my husband and our youngest daughter, set ourselves up at Telstra Hill (a few kms out of Mount Isa, NW Queensland) to watch the moon rise.

It was a spectacular moon rise - that was enhanced by a very special event.

At around 18:52 (6:52pm) a very bright light appeared in the sky and literally plummeted to earth in a fiery blaze.  It is most likely to be some sort of space junk - but it was still amazing to see.

Since posting an image on the local ABC Facebook page - I have been contacted by a few news agencies and now my image has gone global.

You read more about this 'fire ball' on the following links:

Daily Mail UK - Fireball in Queensland

ABC News - Flaming Object

The next step is to find this fallen object - and the fellow from Clear Skies TV is on the hunt for it - see the story here:  ABC News - The Hunt for the Meteorite - or is Space Junk?

Anyone wishing to contact me regarding the images of the 'fireball' can do so via email on:  jemlocoimages@gmail.com

The "Flaming Ball of Light" to the bottom right.  It crashed somewhere between Townsville and Jericho, Queensland  I believe.  I have been reliablly informed by ClearSkiesTV that the star directly above is delta scorpii which forms part of the Scorpion constellation.
