A little while ago I shared with you some images of what it looks like to drive into Mount Isa (The scenery on the road into Mount Isa) - well this blog will show you what Mount Isa looks like from the air.
During the 2011 Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo, one of the best Fund Raising options on offer to everyone is a 15minute fly over the Mount Isa town, the Leichhardt River and out to the Moondarra Dam/Lake. All proceeds go to help fund the RACQ NQ Rescue Helicopter that provides a valuable, life saving service to the Northwest District.
On my flyover, I was able to see "Swag City" (the are where all good Rodeo folk settle in for the three days they are here competeing), the Mount Isa Mine, the Cemetery, Airport, MY HOUSE and out to the Lake/Dam.
It was well worth it - and I may just have another go this year.

| Turning right at this noticeable interesection will take you past the Moondarra Caravan Park on to Lake Moondarra. Straight ahead and you will find yourself at the airport and an hour or so later - Camooweal! |
