More of Razorback Ridge {Mount Isa}

I think I have found a new spot to encourage my photographic interest.

Here are some of the images I took from the last few nights, while trying to take advantage of the lovely dark nights, due to a New Moon.

Mount Isa & Surrounds

Star Trails are alot of fun to do.  It is a simple as setting your camera into position and then letting take lots and lots of 30second images, while you sit back, have a glass of wine or maybe a cup of coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet!  When you have left your camera taking photos for around 30-45 minutes (this image is a 45minute set) or longer, stop it operating, pack up and head home to merge all the images together using a free program call "StarStax"  - it really is that simple!

Orion's Belt - I have always called it the "Big Saucepan"  - it is the only constellation I know - but that does not stop me from staring in awe at our beautiful night skies.

Old Man Emu on the rise.  The beautiful Milky Way.

A little bit of 'light painting' on the trees to give some interest to the Milky Way

The Night - the Sunset was just as beautiful!

Sadly this large cloud ban, precluded me from being able to take star photos on this night!  Never mind - the Milky Way and all the other stars are not going anywhere!!
